Girls On The Estate Empty Girls On The Estate

This isn't what it sounds like Wink Laughing whilst we are on here talking about goalnets, fantasy football etc, what would the girls get out of all these?

We have been talking for a bench for nearly a year now so I think we need less talk and more action and get a good bench Very Happy

Who cares about the girls?? Naa, only joking (Seriously) a bench would be ncie for them to sit on while we play football in the summer and winter as they don't have much to do and also don't really get much as the amount of boys vastly outnumbers them. Great idea Scott!

A bench would be nice. A curved park bench from Argos (again lol) is £44.99 and is 162 cm wide, 57cm in width and 84cm high. Any other suggestions?

Have you got the Argos code.

We have been trying to identify the right one for some weeks now without success. We could check with the committee tomorrow and get one ordered if it suitable to get us away.

Girls On The Estate Empty benches

Post  Edward Mills Sun Oct 19, 2008 12:30 pm

The committee definitely spent some time discussing benches. We thought that most of the cheaper ones were a bit flimsy. I like the idea of cheap - not sure how robust the Argos one is at £45??
I'm afraid that I was rather fussy when we discussed this. Being a forester, I would prefer to buy a wooden bench, but then tropical wood is out of the question.....so, I think we're at the stage of trying to source a robust bench made of UK grown timber.

Details
Natural and black.

FSC Eucalyptus wood, aluminium tube.

Oil finish.

Bench can be left outside all year round.

Weight 18kg.

Size (H)84, (W)57, (D)162cm.

Packed flat for home assembly.

Is FSC Eucalyptus wood tropical wood as you said or is it not just strong enough? In my opinion as long as it can hold 3-4 people and will be firm but also be able to stand the effects of weathering we should buy it and im pretty sure Argos would not supply dodgy equipment that is not going to last. Wink But soon as your the expert you tell us Very Happy Very Happy

Hmmmm....Been called an expert before!! Thanks for the details of the Argos bench. FSC Eucalyptus is OK...just!!
The other thing is that if we get the County Council money we're asking for, we'll be able to buy more than one - and get them all the same so they match
